On 15th March 2016, a joint meeting was organized by various jewellers and traders’ associations in Ahmedabad to strongly oppose the Central Excise Duty on jewellery. The meeting brought together representatives from multiple gold, silver, and bullion associations to express collective concerns regarding the negative impact of the duty on small traders, artisans, and the jewellery industry.
